I’m delighted to have rejoined my true love David Wallace-Lawrence in the town of Barnard Castle in the UK for six months! Since arriving last week I’ve already reconnected with the local bell ringing scene (we live next door to the tower!) and with Mike Bettison‘s Music and Memories program of community singing for people living with dementia. I look forward to continuing with those activities as well as deepening my work with fretless zithers and other instruments, vintage Grange songs, songs of the women’s suffrage movement, and songs of the abolitionists. There’s always more to learn! For now I’ll close with photos of these jolly minstrels from the front face of Blagraves House, a 16th-century building just down the street. Cheers!
