Reflections from England

The past season, in addition to concert performances, I continued and expanded my community-oriented musical work serving faith communities, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and adult day programs, and emceeing open stages on the island of Monhegan and in Hiram, Maine.

Now my true love David Wallace-Lawrence and I are back in his homeland of England for a few months. We’re based in Lartington, near the town of Barnard Castle, in beautiful Teesdale, County Durham, in the North East. Here are some of our neighbors.

It’s good to be reconnecting with the music scene here, thus far including the Richmond Folk Club, Scarth Memorial Hall open mic (from which the photo below is taken), and the local Singing for the Brain sessions for people living with dementia. I look forward to widening my net of musical connections with the excellent regional publication Folk Roundabout as a guide.
