In addition to a performances at nursing homes and assisted living facilities, farmers’ markets, and churches, I’m delighted to have several historical society gigs this month:
- Sat., Aug. 19 – Vintage Grange Songs at Tranquility Grange, 2177 Belfast Road, Lincolnville, ME. Organized in collaboration with the Linconville Historical Society, this evening of “Sweet, Savory, and Song” features light food at 6 PM and music at 7 PM; $15 for adults; under 4 and over 90 get in free. Read all about it! Tranquiility Grange has risen from the ashes repeatedly after catastrophic fires. I count it a privilege to play at such a visible testimony to community resilience!
- Sat., Aug. 26 – Noon concert on the Gazebo at the Village Green, 234 Windham Center Road, Windham, ME, part of Windham Historical Society‘s free Open House celebration of local history and the opening of the South Windham Library and Railroad Museum. - Sun., Aug. 27 – Marxophone & Beyond program on vintage fretless zithers for the Denmark Historical Society, 3 PM at the Denmark Arts Center, 50 W. Main St., Denmark, ME. Suggested donation $5. Explore the whimsical world of vintage play-by-number fretless zithers with me as I present the Marxophone, tremoloa, ukelin, violin-guitar, Apollo harp, dolceola, Harp-O-Chord, & more.
